This report is structured into two main sections. Firstly, it looks into the current situation of coal fired large combustion plants analysing their main characteristics and their impacts both on health and the environment as well as their compliance with European Union Law.
Secondly, it examines the state aid that coal has been receiving in Spain, and which has been given both to its extraction and to its burning for producing electricity.
