Este viernes es un día especial…¡sí claro! se acaba la semana y además es el día internacional del trabajo así que nadie trabaja, ¡ya! pero es que además es un viernes importante, porque la semana que viene los delegados de la Comisión Ospar se reúnen en Londres y en sus manos está asegurar la protección de una parte del Ártico.



¿Cómo? Os lo explicamos de manera sencilla, OSPAR es un acuerdo internacional de 15 países europeos (árticos y no árticos), además de la Unión Europea, con el poder y el mandato de proteger las aguas internacionales del daño causado por las actividades humanas. En la reunión de la próxima semana pueden empezar a asegurar parte de esas aguas internacionales que están en el Ártico, con lo que conseguiríamos proteger un 10% del Ártico.

Esta Comisión tiene una cuenta en twitter @OsparComm que tiene solo 1.500 seguidores :-( y lo que queremos es que hoy tuiteeis y deis vuestro #FF a los que tienen en su mano proteger el Ártico, porque somos ya casi 7 millones de personas los que nos hemos unido a la campaña les piden que lideren la protección del Ártico.

Es muy fácil, solo tienes que tuitear esto:

Y después les puedes seguir a la cuenta @Osparcomm para que suban los seguidores de su cuenta en twitter y noten que estamos pidiéndoles a que tomen la decisión final por la salud del Ártico que tanto nos afecta a todos.

Give your #FF to @Osparcomm this Friday!

The coming Friday is special in several ways: it marks the end of the week and it is the International Labour Day. It is also an important Friday because one week from then the delegates of the OSPAR Commission gather in London. In their hands they hold the power to protect a large chunk of the Arctic.


 
Say what, you never heard of the OSPAR commission? Don’t worry, you are not the only one! The OSPAR convention is an international agreement between 15 European countries (Arctic and non-Arctic), and the EU, which has the power and mandate to protect international waters from damage caused by human activities.

At the meeting next week the OSPAR delegates can start securing part of the international waters located in the Arctic, and pave the way for a protection of 10% of the Arctic Ocean.

But as mentioned this political committee called OSPAR is not very known to the large public. They  have a Twitter account -  @OsparComm – but it has only 1,500 followers. Therefore it would be great if you used your #FF this Friday to make those who have in the power in their hands to protect the Arctic know that we are watching, and that we are 7 million people who have already signed to save the Arctic!

It is easy, you just have to tweet this:

And then keep an eye on @osparcomm  - let them know that we encourage them to make that decision for the future of the Arctic.
